Imaging-Workshop

Imaging workshop in 2016

Dear colleagues,

as part of the education program of our SPP, we are offering a course on imaging, image analysis and multifluorescence microscopy. The course is organized by our group and takes place from Nov 28-30, at the University of Leipzig, in our new labs at the SIKT building, Philipp-Rosenthal-Straße 55. The course is open for up to 8 participants.

The course starts Nov 28, 13h until Nov 30, 16h and focuses on the application of confocal and widefield microscopy with structured illumination. It will start with an introduction into confocal microscopy, application of the Zeiss AiryScan module for enhanced resolution and structured illumination techniques. This will be followed by a discussion of fixation, antigen unmasking and localization techniques. Participants can either bring their own samples for imaging or can participate in a practical course for which we provide cultured cells and selected antibodies. With these, fixation and antibody applications will be performed and samples will be imaged on our microscopes during days 2 and 3 (www.maginlab.eu). Detailed protocols will be provided after registration.

The course is free; drinks and lunch will be provided. Accommodation is by yourself. Please apply by e-mail to Aileen Wingenfeld (SPP1782.coordinator@uni-leipzig.de) no later than Oct. 25.
